According to the compilation by Türkiye newspaper, if the inflation rate for December exceeds 1.72%, the raise rates for retirees and civil servants may change. Different raise scenarios are being considered.

The minimum wage was announced earlier than expected with a surprising decision, and the salary for 7 million minimum wage earners for 2025 has become 22,104 lira. While a 30% increase is considered insufficient by many, attention has turned to the pensions and salaries of civil servants.

HOW MUCH WILL THE 6-MONTH INFLATION DIFFERENCE BE?

According to the Central Bank's survey, market participants predict that the monthly inflation will be 1.72% in December. The total inflation for July, August, September, October, and November was calculated to be 14.57%. Based on expectations, the 6-month inflation rate concerning retirees and civil servants is estimated to be around 16.54%. If inflation is 2%, the 6-month inflation rises to 16.86%. The inflation difference, which is decisive for the salary increase of civil servants and retirees, will be 6.24%. If inflation is 2.5%, the 6-month inflation will increase to 17.43%. The inflation difference will be 6.76.

Civil servants and retired civil servants received a 10% contractual increase in July. They will gain a difference equal to the amount exceeding this rate in the 6-month inflation.
