ARGUMENT ENDS IN BLOODSHED

The incident occurred around 10:00 PM yesterday in the İlkadım neighborhood of Çankaya district, on Atayolu Street. Mehmet Berkay Aşık, released on leave from prison, went to his parents' home. There, an argument broke out with his retired police officer father, Ali Rıza Aşık, for reasons still unknown.

As the argument escalated, Mehmet Berkay Aşık stabbed his father with a knife. In response, Ali Rıza Aşık fired three shots at his son with his pistol.

SON DIES, FATHER SERIOUSLY WOUNDED

Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address upon notification. Medical personnel determined that Mehmet Berkay Aşık had lost his life. His body was taken to the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.

Ali Rıza Aşık, injured by the knife, was taken by ambulance to Bilkent City Hospital for treatment. It was learned that the retired police officer is in critical condition.
