The statement said, "This morning, in response to the Kiev regime's attempts to damage Russian energy and economic facilities, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a group attack on Ukrainian military industrial facilities and air bases with long-range precision weapons. The targets of the attack have been reached. The designated facilities have been hit."

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated, "The allegations that representatives of the Kiev regime carried out intentional missile attacks on Russian civilian facilities are absolutely false."

In the statement claiming that the missile causing the destruction in Kiev belonged to Ukraine, it was stated, "Numerous photographs and video footage released by Kiev confirm the fact of destruction caused by a Ukrainian air defense missile launched from an anti-aircraft missile system within the city."
