Russia has descended to the Mediterranean! Exercises with high-precision missiles.

After the attacks by armed opposition groups in Syria, Assad's forces withdrew from many regions; the tension also spread to the Mediterranean. According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Navy conducted exercises in the northern part of the Mediterranean from December 1 to 3 as part of the troops' preparation.

MORE THAN 1,000 SOLDIERS AND 24 AIRCRAFT PARTICIPATED

In the exercises organized under the command of Admiral Aleksandr Moiseyev, more than 1,000 soldiers, 10 ships, and 24 aircraft, including "Mig-31" type planes, participated.

As part of the exercises, today high-precision "Kalibr" missiles, hypersonic "Tsirkon" missiles, and "Oniks" cruise missiles were launched from the sea and air, hitting the designated targets.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Russia has sided with Assad in the attacks by armed opposition groups; fighter jets have carried out attacks, especially targeting Idlib, which is considered the center of the opposition. Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his support for Assad many times.
