A female civil servant, dubbed "Russia's most beautiful terrorist," was sentenced to 21 years in prison for allegedly organizing pro-Ukrainian sabotage attacks. Due to Vladimir Putin's paranoia, 29-year-old Viktoria Shinkaruk was imprisoned for allegedly preparing "terrorist attacks" on railways and oil refineries. Shinkaruk was found guilty by a military court of acquiring explosives and smuggling. The court also claimed that Shinkaruk participated in a "dead zone" operation on behalf of Ukraine by leaving 780 pounds in a trash can at a supermarket. Shinkaruk vehemently denied having any knowledge that the money was to be used for terrorist purposes. She only claimed to have followed the instructions of her exiled husband, who later turned out to be working for Ukraine. According to allegations, her 36-year-old husband Evgeny Kisel helped Ukrainian military intelligence for months. Prosecutors stated that the money was part of a larger Ukrainian conspiracy aimed at blowing up a gas pipeline and a Wagner private army base. After her conviction, Shinkaruk, referred to as "Russia's most beautiful terrorist," asked prosecutors to keep her away from prison. In court, she explained her innocence to the judge: "I am against all forms of violence. I would never associate my life with such an activity. I was born in Belgorod, and I had no desire to contribute to any explosion in my city. If I had known that [my husband] was a member of a terrorist organization, I would never have communicated with him." The judge did not accept her reasoning and sentenced Shinkaruk to 21 years in prison. The key evidence in her conviction came from a notebook belonging to an unidentified couple presented in court. Alexander Kholodkov, a 38-year-old mechanic alleged to be her accomplice, received only one additional year in prison despite being accused of leaving another 3,900 pounds at the dead zone. Both were found guilty of joining a terrorist organization, preparing terrorist acts, acquiring illegal explosives and smuggling, preparing to manufacture explosives, and smuggling goods and resources of strategic importance. Shinkaruk's close friends were shocked when they heard about the trial. A male friend said, "I don't believe she could do anything against the country. She's a very smart and attractive girl; I never heard any suspicious explanation from her during our conversations. She loves our country." Another friend named Sergei told the Regnum news agency: "I think her husband brainwashed her into believing that this money would help him avoid a so-called criminal case. She acted foolishly and just wanted to help. Now she will lose her youth and the opportunity to start a family."
