Russia Says Drone Attacks Struck Oil Depots In Tambov, Adygea Regions

20.06.2024 13:42

Local authorities report no casualties due to explosions at oil depots.

Russia said on Thursday that overnight drone attacks struck oil depots in the Tambov region and the Republic of Adygea.

Tambov Governor Maksim Yegorov said there was an explosion and fire at an oil depot in the region's Rasskazovsky district.

The incident was allegedly caused by a drone, Yegorov said, adding that the remains of another UAV were found in the region's Pervomaysky district.

"There were no casualties. All measures have been taken to ensure security in the region," he added.

Murat Kumpilov, the head of Adygea, said on Telegram that an overnight drone attack caused a fire in the village of Enem, about 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the city of Krasnodar.

Indicating the fire was completely extinguished, Kumpilov said the fire raged in an area of around 400 square meters, and caused no casualties.

Multiple Ukrainian media outlets, including state news agency Ukrinform, cited sources as saying that the drones belonged to Ukraine's Security Service (SBU).

The SBU, however, did not immediately comment on the attacks. -
