Saadet Party's General Chairman Mahmut Arıkan thanked the party members for being elected as the General Chairman at the 9th Ordinary Grand Congress during his speech at the party's TBMM Group Meeting. Arıkan stated that Turkey is entering a period where the specific weight of the Saadet Party in Turkish politics will be felt more. "Turkey needs this. Both our internal and external situations have turned into a great bundle of problems. Our priority will be to build a strong and healthy opposition vision," he said.
"EVERY MEANS IS NOT PERMISSIBLE FOR POWER"
Mahmut Arıkan emphasized that the first goal of the new generation of politics is to liberate the language and ethics of politics, stating, "We are embarking on a new political understanding that our nation longs for. Politics is fundamentally a struggle for power. However, every means is not permissible for power," he expressed. Arıkan argued that there should be no place for processes like apprenticeship and journeyman in politics, saying, "Until you become a master, our nation, which is struggling to survive between a minimum wage of 17 thousand lira and a rent of 15 thousand lira, pays the price for your mistakes and errors."
"NATIONAL VIEW IS THE HOPE NEEDED IN THE WHOLE REGION"
Arıkan stated that they will carry the Saadet Party to power, saying, "Our country has hope from us, expectations, and desires. We are obliged to respond to these expectations. National View is that hope needed not only in Turkey but in the whole region today. We know that in Palestine, Turkistan, Yemen, and everywhere there is oppression, Turkey and the National View are awaited."
Pointing out that the quality of education given today will determine how a nation will be decades later, Arıkan stated that education is a bridge between the past and the future. He emphasized that young people are being dragged into the dark corridors of digital environments, continuing his words; "'We will elevate education,' they said, but today we are among the last in terms of reading comprehension among OECD countries. They said 'modern education,' but they took our country back to the level of 3rd world countries with the Fatih Project, which caused billions of dollars in losses. They seized the rights of 5 thousand of our youth by calling it an interview. They made the act of eating rights a law by saying 'like an interview.' Whenever whispers of cabinet reshuffles start to circulate, our ministers seem to have some issues. They manipulate the feelings of millions of our people with the intention of securing their positions and guaranteeing their places. A secularism debate is being carried out."
"THE ESSENTIAL THING IS NOT THE MINIMUM WAGE BUT THE HUMAN WAGE"
Arıkan also announced their demands regarding the determination of the new minimum wage, continuing as follows; "When we work on the TÜİK figures, we find that the inflation faced by the low-income group is 61%. We propose that the minimum wage be increased by at least 61% to protect purchasing power. Any figure below this is not realistic, healthy, and sincere. Additionally, no deductions should be made from any wage, and there should be no difference between gross and net wages. Deductions such as taxes, social security premiums, and employer unemployment insurance premiums should be removed from all wage income. This proposal is a realistic and applicable wage policy. With this proposal, purchasing power will not erode, and inflation will not be triggered. The essential thing is not the minimum wage but the human wage."
