The penal decision made by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has prompted Saran Media to take action. Saran Media, which was penalized for broadcasting illegal betting advertisements, has decided to suspend match broadcasts. THEY WILL NOT BROADCAST MATCHESThe statement included the following: "Unjust penalties hinder sports fans' access to quality broadcasts and negatively affect our industry." According to the decision made by Saran Media, Turkish football fans will no longer be able to watch Serie A and La Liga matches. Matches featuring Kenan Yıldız, who plays in Italy, and Arda Güler, who plays in Spain, will no longer be broadcast in Turkey. The full statement from S Sport and S Sport Plus is as follows; "To the Attention of the Public, As we stated in our public announcement on November 25, 2024, all rights and related revenues regarding the virtual advertisements in the La Liga and Serie A matches we broadcast belong to the respective leagues. Our request for these leagues to send signals free of illegal betting advertisements has been rejected; it has been stated to us in writing by the relevant leagues that the signal sent to Turkey is sent simultaneously and with the same content to many countries, including Turkey, and that the broadcasting channels do not have the right to intervene in this signal. Despite our clear expression of these points in our public announcement, unfortunately, posts that defame our group have continued on social media, and the public has been misled with incomplete information. We would like to remind once again that this situation, which concerns the entire industry, has been shared multiple times with all official institutions and relevant stakeholders. However, we regret to learn that RTÜK has imposed a penalty on us yesterday. While we were waiting for this penalty to be communicated to us, we regret to inform you that we had to decide not to broadcast La Liga and Serie A matches this weekend, as we could face much heavier penalties than a monetary fine if these broadcasts continue. Our aim is to fulfill our responsibilities to our viewers while acting in accordance with legal obligations and to prevent any potential grievances they may face. As a broadcasting organization, we have communicated this decision, which we took at the expense of depriving our viewers of these beloved contents and risking our agreements with the leagues we are obligated to, in writing to the relevant leagues and reiterated our request for a signal specific to Turkey. It is our top priority to ensure that our viewers can access match broadcasts as soon as possible. Our efforts towards a solution continue uninterrupted. We would like to thank our viewers in advance for their understanding and trust in us during this process, as they are the primary victims of the situation that has arisen. Respectfully announced to the public. S Sport & S Sport Plus"
