A 9-year-old child named U.M.K, who was delivered to a private institution called Mor Menekşe Autism Academy in Beylikdüzü for qualified care by his family, is alleged to have been assaulted. The family, who came to see their child, filed a complaint against the institution after noticing burns on the child's arm, bite marks on his shoulder, and various bruises on his body. Additionally, moments of violence allegedly experienced by another child in the same institution were recorded by a nearby citizen using a mobile phone. THEY DID NOT WANT TO SHOW THEIR CHILDREN AT FIRSTThe incident occurred last Friday at the Mor Menekşe Autism Academy located in the Gürpınar neighborhood of Beylikdüzü. According to allegations, the family, who came to visit their children, was initially not allowed to see them by the nurses with various excuses. ASSAULT, BITES, BURN MARKSThe family, expressing that they saw bruises, bite marks, and burn marks on various parts of their child's body after he was brought to them due to their insistence, claimed that the institution's director, a person named Aybüke L., told them, "I just got here. It has nothing to do with me. We can resolve this among ourselves." Furthermore, the family claimed that a nurse named İlayda T. told them, "If you don't like it, you should have taken care of it yourself," and they filed a complaint against the Mor Menekşe Autism Academy. "8 AUTISTIC GIRLS WERE IN DESPERATE CONDITION"The father, Recep Kaymak, who shared their experiences, said, "We researched this center on social media and various platforms and came to the conclusion that it was good. When we took our child there, we were told that 'our child would receive toilet training, speech therapy, and that our child would be in a better condition.' We left him there so that he could express himself and receive toilet training. Every Friday, my mother and I had video calls with the child. During the calls, I noticed that the child was losing weight. When I asked why, they told me, 'Your child is not eating.' Several times when I wanted to see the child physically, they said it was not appropriate. It was against the rules," he stated. "HIS MOUTH WAS BLEEDING"The father, Kaymak, who came to Istanbul to visit his child, said: "What I saw at the entrance of the Mor Menekşe Autism Center could have been the worst thing I could see in my life. When I went there, I saw 8 autistic girls outside without slippers or socks, and one of them had fallen to the ground with a bleeding mouth. They were in a very bad condition. I told a nurse there to open the door because we have our child inside and we want to see him. They said you cannot enter. We insisted. When we entered, they did not let us into the main building. But I said I want to see the main building. They did not accept this. "MY CHILD'S CLOTHES DID NOT BELONG TO US"They took us to the waiting room. The waiting room was filthy. While we were in the waiting room, they told me my child was sleeping. I insisted on having my child brought to me. My child came. None of the clothes on my child belonged to us. They had dressed him in a piece of clothing and shoes they found at that moment. The shoes they put on him were 5 sizes too big. When I started to take off the clothes due to the bruise I saw on the left side of his neck, I saw bruises on his arm, shoulder, back, and ankle. You can tell that these bruises were caused by being hit with a stick. I called the police to the scene. The nurses there said, 'We just started our duty; we didn't do it.' The director told me, 'I started working on July 24.' Was there no report for this child? How did this child end up like this? We went to the police station and filed a complaint. We wrote everywhere. I have now taken my child. My child will somehow receive treatment and recover. But the 70 children there are not in good condition at all," he said. Additionally, in another video allegedly taken at the same institution, moments of a person applying violence to a child on the balcony were captured.
