Kanichowsky, who scored the first goal for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the 23rd minute, saluted the army by showing the Israeli flag after the goal. This action by the 27-year-old Israeli footballer received a strong reaction from Turkey. It remains a question whether UEFA will impose any sanctions following this incident.

UEFA HAD PUNISHED US

UEFA had fined the Turkish Football Federation 50,000 euros due to the military salute given by our national team players during the Euro 2020 qualifiers against France and Albania.
