It was reported that the occupying Israeli entity has objected to 3 articles of the road map of the Israeli Peace Council regarding the completion of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. It was reported that the Tel Aviv administration opposes the inclusion of Qatar and Turkey in the International Verification Committee, which will oversee whether the parties have fulfilled their commitments under the road map.
It has been reported that Israel has objected to 3 articles of the roadmap regarding the completion of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza by the Peace Council.
THEY CONVEYED IT TO BLAIR In a report by the Haaretz newspaper, based on 2 sources with knowledge of the matter, it was stated that Israel conveyed these objections to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, a member of the Peace Council's Gaza Executive Committee.
The Tel Aviv administration was reported to have objected to the Israeli army completely ceasing its attacks and demanded freedom to strike areas in the Gaza Strip where the International Stability Force would be deployed.
It was also reported that Israel insists on the destruction of Hamas weapons instead of storing them.
According to the roadmap, it is envisaged that the weapons in Hamas's possession would be collected and kept under the supervision of the National Committee for Gaza Administration (NCAG).
Tony Blair DEMAND FOR "TURKEY AND QATAR NOT TO BE INCLUDED" It was noted that the Tel Aviv administration opposed the inclusion of Qatar and Turkey in the International Verification Committee (IVC), which would monitor whether the parties fulfill their commitments under the roadmap.
A Peace Council official, speaking to Haaretz, said that no date has yet been set for when the roadmap will come into effect.
The process is expected to begin with a 14-day period during which Israel and Hamas will set a timeline for implementing the roadmap.
ROADMAP FOR THE SECOND PHASE OF THE CEASEFIRE ANNOUNCED Nickolay Mladenov, the High Representative of the Gaza Peace Council, had recently announced that Hamas accepted a detailed roadmap.
US President Donald Trump also announced on his social media account that the Peace Council had reached an agreement for Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza to lay down their arms.
Hamas, along with Palestinian groups, had reported a positive approach to the proposals presented by the mediators for the negotiation process and the completion of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
Hamas had stated that Israel stopping its attacks and establishing a timeline for the agreed-upon matters were fundamental conditions, emphasizing that the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement also depended on Israel fully fulfilling its obligations in the first phase.
The National Committee for Gaza Administration had also announced that it had completed its institutional and operational preparations to take over the administration of the Gaza Strip.
The first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on October 10, 2025, and despite the agreement envisaging a ceasefire, prisoner exchange, and increased humanitarian aid, Israeli attacks and restrictions on aid entry had continued.
