With the match between Trabzonspor and Adana Demirspor, the experienced coach of the burgundy-blues, Şenol Güneş, has reached his 621st Super League match in his coaching career, thus achieving an important success.

SECOND COACH WITH THE MOST MATCHES IN THE SUPER LEAGUE

At 72 years old, Şenol Güneş has matched Samet Aybaba, who has the most matches in Super League history with 621 matches, following Rıza Çalımbay (646), and shares the second place with him.

"NUMBERS ARE NOT IMPORTANT"

In response to the question, "With this match, you become the second coach with the most matches in the Super League with 621 matches. What would you like to say?" Güneş stated, "Numbers are not important at all. I approach every match as if it’s my first. My only goal is for this team to form as a team. Numbers, successes, all of that is in the past. Our goal is to play football. No matter what position you are in, you must play good football on the field. I hold myself responsible as well."

COACHING CAREER

Şenol Güneş, whose coaching career began with Trabzonspor, where he is a legend and currently coaching, has also worked with Boluspor, İstanbulspor, Antalyaspor, Sakaryaspor, FC Seoul, Bursaspor, and Beşiktaş. Güneş has celebrated 2 Super League titles (Beşiktaş), 2 Ziraat Türkiye Cups (Trabzonspor), and 2 Super Cups (Trabzonspor) in his career. The experienced coach, who also managed the A National Football Team, led the crescent-stars to a third-place finish in the 2022 World Cup.
