Breaking his silence about the events that began with Beyza's escape to Sercan's island, Sercan Yıldırım stated that the incident was not an emotional closeness and said, "Like everyone else, I had smuggled some things from outside, I had arranged supplies and stuff. When Beyza came to me, I shared them with her. If we had told Acun about this at that time, I would have been directly punished."
Sercan Yildirim finally spoke out months later about the 'midnight swim between islands' incident involving him and Beyza, one of the most talked-about topics on Survivor. Yildirim, who denied the claims of an emotional connection, revealed the unknown truth behind the incident for the first time.
"BEYZA TOOK A RISK TO PROTECT ME"
During the competition, Beyza's midnight swim to Sercan's island had made a huge splash, and it was claimed that Beyza broke up with her boyfriend after this move. In his video on the subject, Sercan Yildirim emphasized that he was uncomfortable with the incident being twisted into something completely different, stating that the truth was not an emotional bond, but that they had broken the rules together.
"I HAD STOLEN SOME THINGS FROM OUTSIDE"
The former footballer, who said there was only a good friendship between them, described the rule violation on the island and the background of the process with these words: "The Beyza thing was twisted into weird places, it really bothers me. We were in tough conditions on the island, we got along well, we had a good friendship. The truth of the matter is this: Like everyone else, I had stolen some things from outside, I had arranged supplies and stuff.
"IF WE HAD TOLD ACUN, I WOULD HAVE BEEN PENALIZED"
When Beyza came to me, I shared it with her too. If we had told Acun about this then, I would have been penalized directly. Beyza couldn't talk much, couldn't explain herself, to avoid turning me in and to protect me."
