Şevval Sam became a trending topic on social media due to her reaction to a question about femicides. The famous singer responded to the reactions she received with a video she shared on her social media account.

Famous singer and actress Şevval Sam sparked a major debate on social media with her statements regarding femicides in Turkey. Her response to a reporter's question, "Is this Turkey's unfortunate fate?" was criticized by many. Following the criticism, Sam shared a video on her social media account to express her thoughts.

In her statement, Sam emphasized her stance on social issues, saying, "I am speaking as someone who has never deviated even a millimeter from my position on social issues, especially women's, children's, and animal rights." She noted that her astonishment grew as she saw the comments made in recent days, stating that this situation overshadowed the main issue.

'I DID NOT MAKE A STATEMENT BECAUSE I DID NOT FIND THE MEDIUM APPROPRIATE'

After her meeting with reporters, Sam also explained why she did not speak: "That evening, I did not want to speak because I did not find that medium appropriate. I thought that three sentences that would just gloss over the painful news and the suffering of the victims would be disrespectful." With these statements, she emphasized the need to seriously address the pains experienced in society.

CALL FOR CAUTION AGAINST POPULISM

Sam stated that she found it "very dangerous" for some individuals who influence the masses to use a serious issue like femicides as a tool for populism. She expressed that such behaviors would do nothing but increase hatred and that a solution-oriented approach is necessary.

Finally, Sam pointed out that social figures need to think more deeply, saying, "On the contrary, we should come together, unite our strengths, and seriously discuss how these pains can come to an end." Sam's statements were seen as a call to create a deeper and more constructive discussion environment regarding the social issue of femicides.
