In the Atakum district of Samsun, a 24-year-old young woman sunbathing on the beach filed a complaint with the police, claiming that a person had sexually harassed her. The suspect, who was detained, was released by the court, to which he was referred with a request for arrest, under judicial control with a ban on traveling abroad.
The alleged sexual harassment incident that took place on the beach in Samsun has sparked reactions. A 24-year-old young woman sunbathing in the Atakum district claimed that a person sexually harassed her and reported it to the police.
ALLEGED HARASSMENT WHILE SUNBATHING ON THE BEACH
The incident occurred yesterday at around 6:50 PM on the beach across from the Yeşilyurt Mall in Denizevleri Neighborhood, Atakum district. According to the claim, 24-year-old İ.Ç., who works as a beauty specialist, reported to the police that 40-year-old Ş.K. sexually harassed her while she was sunbathing on the beach.
Upon the report, teams from the Atakum District Police Department's Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau were dispatched to the area and quickly apprehended the suspect, Ş.K., taking him into custody.
REFERRED TO COURT WITH REQUEST FOR ARREST
After his procedures at the police station were completed, the suspect was referred to the Samsun Courthouse today. The prosecutor's office referred Ş.K. to the duty court with a request for his arrest.
RELEASED WITH JUDICIAL CONTROL
The court ruled that the suspect be released under judicial control, imposing a ban on traveling abroad.
