Yazgül İkiz, a mother of three who received an injection prescribed by the doctor for her tooth, expressed her frustration, saying, "I went for my tooth, and I ended up losing my leg. I have visited every doctor, and I couldn't find a solution for this pain."

Yazgül İkiz, who lives in Eskişehir, had her life turned into a nightmare after receiving an antibiotic injection from a dentist she visited 7 months ago. After getting the injection, İkiz began to feel pain in her left leg and started to limp. Despite visiting 7 different hospitals, she could not find a remedy for her ailment.

Yazgül İkiz, a 45-year-old mother of three, went to Eskişehir Oral and Dental Health Hospital during the last Ramadan Bayram for a dental issue. After receiving antibiotic injections there, İkiz went to Yunus Emre State Hospital. According to her claim, after receiving the injections from a nurse, Yazgül İkiz felt a very severe pain in her left leg. The unfortunate woman, whose pain never subsided, returned to Yunus Emre State Hospital. İkiz stated that she did not receive support or attention from the Patient Rights Unit there and limped home while feeling pain. As her ability to walk became increasingly difficult, İkiz went to Eskişehir City Hospital for an examination. She did not find any benefit from the medication prescribed to her there either.

VISITED 7 HOSPITALS IN 7 MONTHS

Not finding any benefit from the examinations and medications, Yazgül İkiz went to Eskişehir Anadolu Hospital. There, she paid 400 TL for medication but again did not find the benefit she hoped for. The unfortunate 45-year-old woman, who has visited 7 hospitals in 7 months, fears becoming disabled while accumulating a box of medication. The woman, who only wanted to treat the decay in her tooth, now cannot put weight on her left leg. Finally, she stated that she filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office.

"I HAVE NOT LEFT ANY DOCTOR UNVISITED, I COULD NOT FIND A CURE FOR MY PAIN"

Yazgül İkiz, a 45-year-old mother of three, who recounted her experiences, said, "I went to the dental hospital on the second day of the holiday because my tooth was swollen. The doctor gave me medication and an injection. I received the injection and started getting it on the second day of the holiday. I used antibiotics and painkillers. Since my face was swollen, I went to the hospital immediately. When I first received the injection in the emergency room of Yunus Emre State Hospital, it felt very heavy to me. They looked and said, 'You are taking 4 injections a day, it could be.' The next day I went again and said, 'My leg is numb, I couldn't sleep last night.' Then they told me, 'Sister, you know a lot, we know the injection.' I did not get injected again after receiving the injection three times. I had 15 injections in my hand. I was getting 2 injections in the morning and 2 in the evening. Since I couldn't stand the pain, I went back to the hospital. The nurse at Yunus Emre State Hospital did not attend to me. Then I wanted to see the chief physician. His assistant came and told me, 'You need to go to patient rights first.' I went to patient rights and explained the situation. The patient rights unit gave me a paper and told me to file a complaint. I said, 'I don't want to complain. Whoever is responsible for this department, please help me.' The woman there called the manager. She also told me, 'Go and apply to 182.' I asked, 'Who should I apply to at 182? Who is responsible for this department? I said I didn't know. She didn't care and sent me away. I was already victimized there. I am complaining about patient rights directly. All the doctors know me now. I have not left any doctor unvisited, and I could not find a cure for this pain. I have so much pain that my leg is pulling right now. I can't step on my heel, I have collapses, and I can't sleep at night. They give me green prescription antidepressant pills. I have not left any hospital in Eskişehir unvisited. I also went to Eskişehir City Hospital. Mr. İlker told me, 'It may have hit a nerve.' He gave me medication. I took the medications, and since it didn't go away, I went back again. He said, 'You may have a herniated disc, go to a neurosurgeon urgently.' I went to the neurosurgeon, and he said the situation was not related to him. In other words, I visited doctor after doctor," she said.

"I AM ASKING FOR HELP FROM THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH"

Yazgül İkiz, who could not find a remedy for her ailment even in private hospitals, stated that she filed a complaint. İkiz expressed her feelings: "I also went to Eskişehir Anadolu Hospital, where a nerve and vascular doctor, Mr. Zühtü, examined me. The doctor told me, 'Yes, it may have hit a nerve, but I don't understand this swelling. Go to a pain doctor.' When I mentioned that I had already gone there, the doctor said it was not his department. I was going to get medication from the doctor at Private Anadolu Hospital, but the doctor first wanted me to register, and I paid 400 TL. I am in a very bad situation both financially and spiritually. I went to a physical doctor at Yunus Emre State Hospital. He also told me, 'It has hit a nerve right now, but I don't find this suitable for physical therapy. You will have to take medication continuously.' I told him I couldn't step on my foot, and he said, 'It could be, the treatment process is very troublesome.' In other words, no one has put their hand under the stone. No one is taking this pain away. I am very bad, and my psychology is deteriorating. I have not left any hospital unvisited for 7 months, I have visited 7 hospitals, and they have given me a lot of medication. I went to the courthouse and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. Last month, I spoke with the prosecutor himself, and I requested forensic medicine. He told me, 'It could take a year, or a year and a half. Take care of yourself, don't wait for me, and visit doctor after doctor,' but the doctors are not looking. I went for my tooth, and I lost my leg. I am asking for help from the Ministry of Health.
