The life of Osman Akın (55), a married father of five living in Batman, turned into a nightmare due to hiccup attacks that started 1.5 years ago. Unable to eat because of the intermittent attacks, Akın has become tired and exhausted, and his condition could not be treated in the hospitals he visited. Stating that his family has also been worn out due to his condition and that they are tired from having to take care of him in hospitals, Akın is waiting for help to get rid of his hiccup disorder.

Describing what he has experienced since the hiccup attacks began, Osman Akın said, "My hiccup attacks started 1.5 years ago. Since then, it has continued. It stops for a week, then continues for a week. When the hiccup attack comes, it doesn't stop at all. It doesn't stop for a week. During that time, I can't eat much. After that, I vomit a lot. I feel very weak. My stomach hurts."
