The trial with 22 defendants regarding the murder of former Idealist Hearths General Chairman Sinan Ateş continued yesterday. The lawyers of the defendants claimed that Sinan Ateş was killed by his friends during the conflict.

Doğukan Çep, who is being tried for being the mastermind behind the murder of former Idealist Hearths General Chairman Sinan Ateş, asked, "Yes, I instigated it. We shot him in the leg, but whose bullet killed him?" and said, "There is suspicion. Eray is pressuring, Sinan is falling, after he falls, it is not possible for Eray to shoot Sinan in the stomach. That angle is Selman's (the friend who was with Sinan Ateş on the day of the incident) angle." Eray Özyağcı, who is alleged to be the hitman, had previously stated that he only shot Ateş in the legs and heard voices saying "We shot the leader" while escaping.

Zeynettin Aktürk, the lawyer of hitman Eray Özyağcı, argued that the trial was incomplete and flawed. Aktürk claimed that Özyağcı said in his defense, "I went there to injure, I was only going to shoot his legs," and claimed that the security camera footage confirmed this.

Since the initial goal was to injure, he planned to shoot his legs and escape. He was forced to retaliate because he was shot from behind while running away."

Aktürk, defending that his client did not kill Ateş, said, "Özyağcı's shooting angle is very clear. He fired from a distance of one meter. If he intended to kill, he would have aimed for his head, not his legs. Sinan Ateş was killed by his friend Selman Bozkurt who was with him. The security camera footage and the autopsy report also prove this."
