In the case heard at the Nicosia District Court, the police stated that the incident occurred around 22:30 last night at the residence where the couple lived together in Alayköy. Presenting the evidence related to the incident in court, the police said that E.T. wounded her husband, Cumali İsmail Taşdemir, who was sleeping in the bedroom, in three places with a knife, and that Taşdemir died as a result of the injuries he sustained. The police also stated that it is believed the suspect thought her husband would take her belongings from her and that the murder was committed for this reason.

Taking the floor upon the judge's question in court, E.T. said, "If he hadn't tricked us, this wouldn't have happened."

The court decided to arrest E.T. for a period of 3 days in order to conduct the investigation in a healthy manner.
