SNOWFALL HAS STARTED IN ÇATALCAAfter the warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, snowfall began to be effective in the high areas of Istanbul today in the afternoon hours. The snowfall is intermittently effective in Çatalca as well. WARNING FROM AKOMThe Disaster Affairs Department of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) had issued a warning for today. In the statement made by AKOM, it was stated, "Cold and rainy weather continues to be effective throughout Istanbul and the Marmara Region. Especially, the Poyraz wind, blowing from the northern directions at a speed of 40 to 70 km per hour and sometimes felt as a storm, is expected to lose its strength from the afternoon hours. It is predicted that the rainfall will continue intermittently throughout the day. After 3:00 PM, mixed rain and short-term snowfall may be observed in the high areas of Istanbul."
