INVESTIGATION INITIATED AFTER CONTROVERSIAL POSTS
An investigation was launched against Mükremin Gezgin with various charges due to some videos he shared on social media platforms. As part of the investigation conducted by the prosecutor's office, Gezgin faced charges of "facilitating drug use," "promoting, mediating, or providing premises for prostitution," and "inciting the public to hatred and hostility or humiliation."
After the investigation process, Gezgin was taken into custody and arrested by the court, then sent to prison.
SPENT APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS IN PRISON
After staying in prison for about 4 months, a release decision was made for Gezgin following objections filed by his lawyers.
Making his first statements after release via social media, Gezgin expressed that the process he experienced affected him psychologically.
“MAY GOD NOT DEPRIVE ANYONE OF THEIR FREEDOM”
Referring to his days in prison, Gezgin said he better understood the value of freedom.
"I spend time with my family. I am also experiencing some psychological issues. May God not deprive anyone of their freedom," Gezgin stated, noting that the experience caused significant changes in him.
“I PLAN TO RETURN AS A DIFFERENT MÜKREMIN”
Expressing that he questioned his life and made new decisions during his time in prison, Gezgin signaled that he wants to follow a different path in the future.
Gezgin gave a message of change to the public with his words, "I made a decision within four walls. I plan to return to our society as a different Mükremin."
