Soil Bears Traces Of Great Flood İn Se Turkey: Academic

The soil structure of southeastern Turkey carries the traces of legendary Noah's flood, or the Great Flood, according to a Turkish professor conducting research on the field.



"Traces of the Noah's flood are hidden in the soil structure of this region. Mudflows and scientific findings show us that the Noah's flood happened in the Mt. Cudi area [southeastern Sirnak]," Seyyid Irmak, an agriculture professor at Sirnak University, told Anadolu Agency.



Stating that scientists have been discussing whereabouts of the Noah's Ark since years, Irmak added that he has been conducting scientific researches in the area for two years.



He said that instead of trying to reach clues of the Noah's Ark, scientists should trace the flood.



"When I first came to Sirnak, I realized a difference in soil structure. Then I started to do a research on this subject," he added.



Irmak said people from abroad visit the areas around Mt. Agri in eastern Turkey, and Mt. Cudi to look for remnants of the ark.



He stated that researches were also conducted around Mt. Agri, but the mudflow traces found in Mt. Cudi did not exist in that region.



The event happened some 7,000-8,000 years ago, said the academic.



"By now, pieces of the ark must have become part of the soil," he asserted, urging for examination on the soil.



There are meters-long mudflow deposits in different areas of the region, posing as the scientific findings and proofs of the Noah's flood, according to Irmak.



On the discussions whether the flood was a global or local event, Irmak characterized it as a local event, as researches suggested.



He said that the traces of the flood were found in upper Mesopotamia, and added: "Around Sanliurfa, Batman, Hakkari, Viransehir, Kiziltepe, Nusaybin and Cizre, almost all the soil formed from the mudflows."



The story of the Great Flood and Noah's Ark has been mentioned in all Abrahamic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.



In the Quran, it is mentioned that Allah informed Noah about an impending flood that would engulf the entire Earth, saved him and all those who were with him in his ark. Noah then proceeded to build his vessel in which he kept members of his family along with pairs of all animals.



The search for Noah's Ark has been made for centuries, but so far no physical proof has ever been found. -
