South African President Jacob Zuma arrived in Egypt on Wednesday for his first visit to the country since the ouster of elected President Mohamed Morsi.
Zuma will hold talks with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi on a host of bilateral and regional issues, an Egyptian diplomatic source said.
According to the source, Zuma is expected to invite al-Sisi to attend an African summit in South Africa in June.
South Africa was critical of the 2013 ouster of Morsi – Egypt's first freely elected president – by the army and the subsequent crackdown on political dissent.
