In the statement made by the Ministry of Health, it was stated that West Nile Virus Infection, a viral disease transmitted by mosquito bites, was detected in 6 people in 2024.

The Ministry of Health announced that the West Nile Virus Infection has been detected in 6 people in 2024.

In a statement made on the ministry's social media account, it was stated that the disease is generally seasonal and is seen during the summer and early autumn, and that the disease does not directly transmit from person to person.

The statement said, "The West Nile Virus Infection, which has been seen in our country since 2010, has been detected in 6 people in 2024. The follow-up and treatment of our patients continue. Necessary studies are being carried out by our ministry and the process is being closely monitored. The latest developments will be announced to the public."
