Syrian Information Minister Hamza Mustafa described the recent actions of the PKK/YPG in the country as "reckless." Mustafa also stated that the organization's leader, Mazlum Abdi, is playing a "waiting game" that involves political risks.
Mustafa, speaking to Syria's official news channel Al-Ikhbariya, reacted to the activities of the PKK/YPG, which uses the name SDF in Syria.
Minister Mustafa argued that there will no longer be regional equations that can protect the PKK/YPG, stating, "In the coming period, we will see an increase in the PKK's escalation, and this will boost public support for the government."
Pointing out that one of the organization's leaders, Mazlum Abdi, is playing a "waiting game" that involves political risks, Mustafa reminded that Abdi went to Erbil in search of "forming a Kurdish alliance" instead of completing the March 10 agreements. The Syrian Minister said, "The PKK/YPG is taking reckless steps."

Indicating that Israel is escalating tensions with military interventions in Syria, Mustafa stated, "Israel is trying to provoke the Syrian state, but we are determined not to fall into a position that serves its provocations. Israel's arrogance and sense of power blind it."
Emphasizing that the Syrian state's political approach is clear, Mustafa said, "The more the state utilizes political opportunities, the more its margin of influence and gains will increase."
Highlighting that lifting international sanctions is critical for the future of the country's economy, the Minister stated, "The issue of lifting sanctions is a vital and fundamental matter. The key to the recovery of the Syrian economy lies in the lifting of sanctions."
