Fenerbahçe Head Coach İsmail Kartal made statements after the 3-0 win over Corendon Alanyaspor in the Süper Lig.
"WE CLOSED THAT BOOK"
Explaining that they erased the Aston Villa defeat from their minds, İsmail Kartal said, "We left the last Champions League match with a sad score. We closed that book. We had to think about the Alanyaspor match. We talked about this match for two days; we couldn't train much, we analyzed a lot. We explained what advantages we could create. My players carried that out very well. After the other match, in today's match, with our fans' tremendous support and energy, we put on a very good performance. We won 3-0 and could have won by a bigger margin. We missed a penalty. The opponent had one or two chances and shots from distance. However, in the end, from the beginning to the end of the match, control was completely with us. In the end, as I said, my players really showed great character and reaction. I congratulate them. I thank the Fenerbahçe fans from the bottom of my heart.
"IT WAS A MORALE BOOST BEFORE THE DERBY"
Continuing his remarks, the experienced coach used the following statements: "This win was a morale boost before the Slavia Prague and derby matches. Now we will concentrate on the Slavia match. We play a match every two or three days. It is not easy. We will prepare the players physically and mentally. We will try to play by resting some players. Our tactical plans regarding the opponent worked very well. I congratulate my players. May it be auspicious."
"WE ARE A QUALITY TEAM"
Speaking about the quality of his team, İsmail Kartal made the statement: "Every coach would be happy and proud of this. In Rize, too, the substitutes scored goals. We are truly a quality team. Those who play, those who come on... The players' motivation is important. We try to keep the motivation of everyone, whether playing or not, high. We look at it match by match. When they get a chance, my players try to do their best. Kerem and Lukaku scored and relieved the pressure on themselves. Thank God, we are continuing on our way with 3 points."
"WE WILL THINK ABOUT IT"
Also answering the question "Will Greenwood continue to take penalties in the upcoming matches?", İsmail Kartal replied, "We will think about that."
