For many years, Arka Sokaklar, which frequently addresses social issues, has been broadcast on Kanal D, and the RTÜK imposed a broadcasting suspension penalty on it. Many famous names reacted to this decision. Scenes from the series depicted societal beliefs as if they were solely in the hands of one person or group, and images of a religious group making threatening statements against the state's law enforcement were deemed contrary to broadcasting principles, resulting in the maximum penalty being imposed. Following the decision, the series' Commissioner Mesut, Şevket Çoruh, expressed his initial reaction by saying, "I consider it an award." "THEY WILL PAY THE PRICE OF THE CHANGE"After the RTÜK penalty, a surprising statement came from Orhan Oğuz, who directed Arka Sokaklar for 18 years. Oğuz stated that the RTÜK penalty was due to a format change, saying, "A format change in a series created over 18 years is dangerous. Presenting my bad acting as if I were a good actor offers the audience a genuine adventure. I have directed dozens of sects and current affairs stories, and there were no issues." Oğuz continued his remarks: "They will pay the price of the format change that has ruined the series with the classic old-fashioned heads of ego barrels created with these hidden images. I don't think Türker İnanoğlu can rest comfortably in his grave."
