A new regulation presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly aims to allow university students to purchase electronic products exempt from special consumption tax (ÖTV).
PRICE CONDITION REMOVED
According to the current regulation, university students are exempt from taxes on domestic smartphone, computer, and tablet models priced at no more than 9,500 TL. With the new regulation, the price condition is aimed to be removed. This means that if this regulation passes, students will be able to purchase many technological products, from iPhone to Samsung, from PlayStation to Xbox, without ÖTV.
