Sunbeds and umbrellas are free for retirees at these beaches.

Another addition has been made to the activities carried out within the scope of Retirees Year. From now on, sunbeds and umbrellas will also be provided free of charge to retirees at our public beaches, where entry is free.

Retirees were given the opportunity to benefit from the facilities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the dormitories under the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories for free for 1 month. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced another study related to retirees.

In his statement on social media, Minister Ersoy said, "Good news for our retirees continues. As part of the Retirees Year, we are offering a new service exclusively for retirees at our public beaches. In addition to the already free entrance to our public beaches, our retirees will now also be provided with free sunbed and umbrella services."

Some of the activities carried out within the scope of the Retirees Year:

  • Discount agreements have been made for retirees in many areas in all 81 provinces. Discount agreements have been made with over 5,500 local companies.
  • As a result of the studies, the amount of bonus payments given to retirees has been doubled. It was stated that banks currently provide retirees with bonuses up to 24,000 Turkish Lira.
  • The amount of holiday bonuses has been increased to 3,000 Turkish Lira. Retirees were paid 6,000 Turkish Lira for 2 holidays.
  • The retirement desk application has been implemented in the central units of the Social Security Institution (SGK) and in the directorates of all 81 provinces. With this application, retirees' requests are quickly met through guide personnel.
  • A special "Retiree Package" has been created by PTTCELL. It was stated that the package will prevent retirees from exceeding their limits and provide affordable calling and internet services.
  • A 10% discount has been provided for retirees on mainline trains throughout the year at TCDD (Turkish State Railways).
  • A 15% discount has been provided for retirees on intercity travel ticket prices.
  • As part of the cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, retirees were given the opportunity to benefit from the facilities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the dormitories under the General Directorate of Credit and Dormitories for free for 1 month.
  • As part of the cooperation with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, a regulation has been made to provide a 15% discount on social facilities of public institutions.
