A cooperation agreement was made between the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and VakıfBank Women's Volleyball Team's national player Zehra Güneş. The signing ceremony held in Feriye was attended by Zehra Güneş, UNICEF Turkey Representative Paolo Marchi, and VakıfBank Sports Club Vice President Ferkan Merdan.

"I AM AWARE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS AGREEMENT"

Zehra Güneş expressed her excitement about the agreement, stating, "I am aware of the importance of this agreement. Today, I am signing an agreement with UNICEF, which protects children and children's rights. Through this work, I want to change the lives of children. I am happy to protect children's rights. Through you, I want children to live in a more habitable world. With UNICEF's help, we can reach every child. Empowering girls means creating strong futures. Together with UNICEF, we will illuminate the path of every girl child. I know the meaning of holding a child's hand," she said.

"I WANT TO LIGHT THE PATH OF A GIRL CHILD"

Zehra, who stated that she will do important work with UNICEF, said, "We want boys and girls to grow up in an equal environment. For this, we want to create social awareness. UNICEF aims to reach disadvantaged children and support them. I want to light the path of a girl child. There are many girls outside who need help and want to find a source of motivation. Even touching 1-2 of them is important," she said.

"MY PARENTS RAISED ME THIS WAY"

Zehra, emphasizing that she has wanted to be involved in such work for a long time, noted;

"We had a short training session with the children. When I showed how to receive and pass the ball, I felt the girl's emotions. The girl was very happy when she learned something from me. Even if it's a small thing, we may not be aware of it. I always try to spend time with children. I do not throw away the gifts from children. Children act with pure love. My parents raised me this way. I try not to hurt children as much as I can."

"ZEHRA IS A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR CHILDREN"

Paolo Marchi expressed his excitement about the agreement, saying, "I just met Zehra, but she is already a hero for me. Zehra is a champion. At the same time, she is also a champion for children. We will work hard together in the projects. Zehra is a great role model for children. All children in Turkey can achieve what they want when given the opportunity. For this reason, I really want to work with Zehra," he stated.

"CHILDREN ARE THE MOST AFFECTED IN PALESTINE"

Marchi stated that they will conduct visits with Zehra, saying, "UNICEF works for children in vulnerable situations. Zehra will help draw public attention. We will try to inspire children. We will try to highlight these issues, and Zehra will assist us," he said.

Referring to the war in Palestine, Marchi said, "In many parts of the world, crises are occurring in Sudan and Palestine. In Palestine or in other places where war is taking place, it is the children who are most affected by these events. Since the day the war started, UNICEF has been working for a ceasefire. We have an office there to provide humanitarian support to Gaza," he stated.
