Turkish football legend and Beşiktaş icon Tayfur Havutçu, who was placed in intensive care as a precaution due to an infection, has been moved to a regular room. Havutçu's treatment will continue with a visitor ban in place.

Neslihan Havutçu, the wife of Beşiktaş legend Tayfur Havutçu, announced that her husband, who was placed in intensive care as a precaution due to an infection, has been moved to a normal room.

In a post on her social media account, Neslihan Havutçu stated, "We owe our heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at American Hospital who treated my husband Tayfur Havutçu during his intensive care process, to all our beautiful friends we have accumulated until today, to the press members, to all the former and current managers of Beşiktaş, to the Beşiktaş fans, and to the other team fans and managers who supported us during this difficult time. We extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who will be with us during our treatment process in the normal room, which will be restricted to visitors."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Tayfur Havutçu was placed in intensive care as a precaution due to an infection last week.

Neslihan Havutçu shared on her social media account that her husband was hospitalized about a week ago due to an infection, stating, "My husband was placed in intensive care as a precaution because some of his values were found to be high during his routine checks due to the illness he experienced. The values are decreasing day by day, and with God's permission, he will be moved to a normal floor soon."

WHO IS TAYFUR HAVUTCU?

Tayfur Havutçu was born on April 23, 1970. Havutçu, who also holds German citizenship, played as a defensive midfielder and wore the national team jersey. After ending his football career, he also worked as a coach. Tayfur Havutçu is a relative of Süleyman Seba, the honorary president of Beşiktaş. Between 1994 and 2004, Tayfur Havutçu was called up to the national teams 59 times over 10 years, wearing the Turkey A national team jersey 45 times and scoring 6 goals in those matches.

In his coaching career, Havutçu managed Beşiktaş, Adana Demirspor, and Kasımpaşa. He also served as an Assistant Coach for the National Team. The 54-year-old coach won the Turkish Cup with Beşiktaş in the 2010-11 season.
