The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, issued warnings against forest fires.
Highlighting the increase in air temperature, Yumaklı stated, "According to meteorological data, the temperatures across the country are expected to rise by 6 to 12 degrees next week, the humidity rate will drop below 20%, and strong winds will be effective, which elevates the risk of forest fires to the highest levels."
Yumaklı emphasized that they have repeatedly pointed out that "causing forest fires is no different from shooting bullets at the homeland," and indicated that they will continue to defend the "Green Homeland" with all their might, supported by the strongest air-ground fleet in history and forest heroes.
A CALL FOR "SENSITIVITY" TO CITIZENS
In this vital struggle, Yumaklı urged citizens to show the highest level of sensitivity and made the following warnings: "We remind you once again. Let’s not burn stubble. Let’s not light fires in forested areas. Let’s not throw cigarette butts on the ground. Let’s throw waste in trash bins, not in nature. Let’s have water tanks and fire extinguishing devices in agricultural machines. If we see even the smallest smoke, let’s call 112 immediately. Let’s protect our future, our breath, and our hope together."
