Detained suspects Nevzat Bahtiyar, uncle Salim Güran, brother Enes Güran, and mother Yüksel Güran were present in the courtroom. The Güran family and their relatives, along with 8 lawyers for Yüksel and Enes Güran, 1 lawyer each for Salim Güran and Nevzat Bahtiyar, father Arif Güran, 30 lawyers from the Diyarbakır Bar Association, Diyarbakır Bar President Lawyer Abdülkadir Güleç, former president Lawyer Nahit Eren, representatives from the Ministry of Family and Social Services, President of the Turkish Bar Association Erinç Sağkan, AK Party MP Suna Kepolu Ataman, CHP MPs Sezgin Tanrıkulu, Asu Kaya, Türkan Elçi, and DEM Party MPs Adalet Kaya, Meral Danış Beştaş, and Ceylan Akça Cupolo also attended the trial.
26 WITNESSES TO BE HEARD
In the courtroom, Salim Güran sat in the front left, followed by Yüksel Güran and Enes Güran in order. Nevzat Bahtiyar sat in the area reserved for him on the right side of the courtroom. A total of 26 witnesses, 6 of whom are detained, will be heard during the trial.
TENSION IN THE COURTHOUSE CORRIDORS
Before the trial, tense moments occurred in the courthouse corridors. Due to the police barricade blocking the entrance to the courtroom, lawyers, journalists, and NGOs who could not enter the courtroom had a dispute with the presiding judge, while the tension in the corridors was recorded second by second by a mobile phone camera.
