The third session of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Council in October was held at the municipal building in Saraçhane. Tensions rose in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Council. During off-agenda speeches, AKP council member Şeyma Aktaa claimed that children in the daycare centers and camps of CHP municipalities were entrusted to LGBT activists. In response, CHP Group Deputy Chair Ülkü Sakalar reminded everyone of the rapes that occurred in community dormitories. Council members confronted each other.

Aktaa, who also accused the Kadıköy, Sarıyer, and Şişli municipalities, stated, "Propaganda is being made from the curricula in daycare centers to schools and social media influencers. An LGBT activist was appointed as the coordinator of the daycare centers in Beyoğlu. This person works for the municipality and also leads the CHP's social equality presidency. These incidents are happening not only in Beyoğlu but in many districts. The person responsible for IMM Children's Camps is also an LGBT activist and a member of the Maho group, which claims to represent a third gender. You are placing them in positions to carry out these activities," she expressed.

AKP member of the IMM Council Şeyma Aktaa accused CHP municipalities of promoting LGBT propaganda, saying, "CHP and the DEM Party are imposing LGBT. LGBT environments are places where, once you enter, you acquire different habits. We want you to stop supporting LGBT activities with public means. CHP municipalities are funding these activities with public resources. LGBT propaganda is being made from advertisements in subways and metrobuses to posters on the streets," she stated.

It is not one's private life or sexual preferences that matter, but the hiring guidelines are important to us. The AKP is in a congress process. The district chairman wants to cover up the election defeat in this way. You mentioned a press statement; was there anyone else there besides 10 AKP executives? Additionally, our municipality does not have a position called 'daycare coordinator'; you invented a non-existent position," he expressed.
