In Istanbul's Sultangazi, 45-year-old Mehrınoz Boboeva, while trying to park her vehicle on the sidewalk, hit her religiously married husband, 72-year-old Hayrettin Şen, who was directing her. After the driver pressed the gas too much, Şen, who was trapped under the pickup, died in the hospital where he was taken with severe injuries. Boboeva was taken into custody while an investigation into the incident was launched.
In Istanbul's Sultangazi district, 45-year-old Mehrınoz Boboeva hit her religiously married husband, 72-year-old Hayrettin Şen, who was guiding her as she tried to park her vehicle on the sidewalk. Şen, who was trapped under the vehicle and seriously injured, died at the hospital where he was taken. Boboeva was detained by police teams.
SHE HIT HER HUSBAND WHO WAS GUIDING HER
The incident occurred around 13:30 on Wednesday, October 7, in the Uğur Mumcu neighborhood of Sultangazi. Mehrınoz Boboeva began maneuvering to park her pickup truck with license plate 34 DAG 385 on the sidewalk. Meanwhile, her religiously married husband, Hayrettin Şen, got out to show her how she should park the vehicle.
TRAGEDY STRUCK WHEN SHE PRESSED THE GAS TOO HARD
While trying to drive up onto the sidewalk, Boboeva pressed the gas too hard and lost control of the vehicle. The advancing pickup truck hit Hayrettin Şen, who was standing in front of it and directing her. The 72-year-old man trapped under the vehicle was seriously injured.
HE DIED AT THE HOSPITAL
Following a report by people who saw the accident, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. After initial intervention by medical personnel, Şen, who was taken to Haseki Training and Research Hospital, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions.
FEMALE DRIVER DETAINED
After the accident, Mehrınoz Boboeva was detained by police teams and taken to Esentepe Police Station. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
