According to the information obtained, an explosion occurred as a result of the ignition of gas from the numerous lighter gas canisters in the room of Ramazan K. (25), a third-year student in the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department of Süleyman Demirel University, who was residing in the basement of the dormitory. Those who heard the explosion from the dormitory reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, health, police, AFAD, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area.
STUDENT SERIOUSLY INJURED
As a result of the explosion, Ramazan K., who suffered severe burns to his hands, feet, and face, was taken to Isparta City Hospital after the initial intervention by health teams. It was reported that the student, who was in critical condition, was transferred to Antalya City Hospital. After the investigations conducted by the crime scene investigation teams, a large number of lighter gas canisters were found in the student's room. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.

Muharrem Zeybek, a dormitory student who heard the explosion, said, "I live on the upper floor of the room where the incident occurred. At first, there was a sound, I thought it was the wind, then suddenly smoke started to come out. Everyone went downstairs. Everything happened at once. I saw the injured. He was completely blackened. An ambulance came and took him immediately. I wasn't very scared, but generally, people were scared."
