While small and large landslides have occurred in many places across the province, cracks have formed in the concrete ground around two houses and in the soil areas of the garden in the Çamlıca neighborhood of the Madenli district in Çayeli. Upon the villagers' reports, who noticed that the cracks were deepening and that landslides were increasing in their gardens, AFAD teams were dispatched to the area. In the inspections conducted by the teams that reached the address, it was determined that the two houses were at risk of landslide. Following this, the residents of the houses were evacuated as a precaution. Some of those who were evacuated took their belongings with them, while others were too scared to enter. "THE ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD IS IN MOTION"The headman of the Çamlıca neighborhood, Süleyman Alay, stated that they evacuated the houses in fear, saying, "This place was taken under examination by AFAD teams, and an evacuation decision was made. There were cracks here before. With the rains, the movement here has accelerated. The entire neighborhood is in motion. While we were evacuating the house, there were continuous sounds coming from inside. We emptied the house in fear. We are waiting for a possible landslide here," he said.
