The footage shows the shark approaching from behind the tourist at the diving spot, biting his head and attempting to shake him to swallow him. Miraculously, the tourist managed to escape and swam away desperately.

In the incident that took place on November 15, it was reported that the Chinese tourist was taken to the hospital and received numerous stitches. The viral footage on social media caused a significant stir.

According to authorities, the group is believed to have reached the island using a speedboat and illegally used bait to attract sharks. Although the area is a popular spot for shark diving, shark attacks are rare in the Maldives.

A similar incident occurred in April, where a tourist was seriously injured in a shark attack in Noonu Atoll. The tourist, who was staying at a luxury resort, was attacked by a shark while swimming in the crystal-clear waters and underwent a long recovery process.

Lastly, another recently surfaced video showed a shark attack on a diving group. The shark attacked the divers in succession, causing serious injuries.
