The U.S. House of Representatives Oversight and Accountability Committee held a session titled "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), Uncovering the Truth" in Washington. Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon official who has vocally raised claims about UFOs in recent years, told the representatives gathered at the session, "UAP is real. Extreme secrecy leads to serious abuses against loyal public servants, military personnel, and the public. All of this is done to conceal the fact that we are not alone in the universe." 757 UNIDENTIFIED ANOMALOUS PHENOMENA REPORTOne day after the session, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced that it had submitted a report on "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)" covering a total of 757 incidents to Congress, in collaboration with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). In a written statement from the Pentagon, it was noted that the report was prepared by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022. UNREPORTED INCIDENTSThe report for this year stated that it included a total of 272 UAP incidents that occurred in 2021 and 2022 but were not reported to the AARO, along with a total of 485 incidents between May 1, 2023, and June 1, 2024. The statement indicated that 118 of the incidents reported this year were resolved as being related to balloons, birds, and unmanned aerial vehicles, while investigations into other cases are ongoing. It was pointed out that the total number of UAP cases examined by the AARO has exceeded 1,600 as of June 1, 2024, and that the analysis and understanding of the potential threats posed by UAP incidents continue as part of a collaborative effort involving many departments and agencies. "WE ARE NOT ALONE IN THE UNIVERSE"Meanwhile, during the session titled "UAP, Uncovering the Truth" held yesterday in the U.S. House of Representatives committee, former Pentagon official Luis Elizondo used the phrase "We are not alone in the universe" regarding "unidentified flying objects" (UFOs). Elizondo claimed that he had previously investigated UFOs as part of a secret Pentagon program, stating, "UAP is real. Extreme secrecy leads to serious abuses against loyal public servants, military personnel, and the public. All of this is done to conceal the fact that we are not alone in the universe."
