Social media accounts that provoked the incidents that arose from a Syrian person sexually abusing a Syrian child in Kayseri were found to have links to terrorist organizations. It was stated that some of the accounts that made the posts were supporters of PKK/KCK, while others were supporters of FETÖ/PDY.
New information has emerged regarding the events that started with a Syrian person sexually abusing a Syrian child in Kayseri.
"INDIVIDUALS CONNECTED TO AMERICA AND GERMANY"
Security sources stated that some of the accounts that shared provocative and disinformation posts were supporters of PKK/KCK and FETÖ/PDY, as well as individuals connected to America and Germany.
"CONNECTIONS TO TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED"
In the statement, it was mentioned that "Following Kayseri, Turkey's enemies who contribute to the tension among the people in the areas controlled by Turkish forces in northern Syria have been identified in 22 provinces including Hatay, Gaziantep, Konya, Bursa, and Istanbul. The connections of these elements with terrorist organizations have been identified.".
"USED AS TOOLS BY TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS"
In the statement, it was emphasized that the accounts sharing posts on social media do not act independently and that "these accounts, which increase provocative actions, are used as pawns by the organizations they are affiliated with, and terrorist organizations are also controlled by external actors in anti-Turkey movements. It has been observed that terrorist organizations and hostile actors use even the smallest incidents to provoke the people through social media in order to disrupt internal peace. By creating feelings of hatred and animosity among people, they aim to create chaos in the country using terrorist organizations as tools."
WHAT HAPPENED?
In Kayseri, a person of Syrian nationality was arrested on charges of molesting a young girl. After the news spread, large crowds took to the streets and gathered at certain points. Numerous businesses, houses, and vehicles belonging to Syrians were set on fire and damaged. The social events spread to other cities as well. Many individuals involved in the incident were apprehended and taken into custody.
