In the 'Corruption' case against IBB, 68 detained and non-detained defendants, including Ekrem Imamoglu who was suspended from his post, will appear before the judge in the 12th week of the trial. The 49th hearing, to be held today, will continue taking defendant statements.
AN INDICTMENT OF 3,809 PAGES WAS PREPARED
The 'Corruption' investigation against Ekrem Imamoglu, who was arrested and suspended from his position as Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, was completed and a 3,809-page indictment was prepared on November 11, 2025. In the indictment, Ekrem Imamoglu, named as the 'Organization leader,' is accused of committing crimes including 'Establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes,' 'Bribery,' 'Laundering of crime proceeds,' 'Fraud to the detriment of public institutions and organizations,' 'Recording of personal data,' 'Obtaining and disseminating personal data,' 'Concealing evidence of crimes,' 'Preventing communication,' 'Damaging public property,' 'Accepting bribes,' 'Publicly disseminating misleading information,' 'Extortion,' 'Laundering assets derived from crime,' 'Bid rigging,' 'Intentional environmental pollution,' 'Violation of tax procedure law,' 'Violation of forestry law,' and 'Violation of mining law.' It is requested that Imamoglu be sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 828 years and 2 months to 2,352 years for 142 actions.
42 DEFENDANTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED SINCE THE FIRST HEARING
In previous sessions, the court panel ordered the release of defendants including IBB Private Secretary Kadriye Kasapoglu, Ozgur Karabat's driver Sirri Kucuk, Agaç A.S. employee Fatih Yagci, businessman Ali Uner, businessman Evren Sirolu, businessman Ebubekir Akin, ISPER personnel Davut Bildik, Altan Erturk, Huseyin Yurttas, Murat Ongun's driver Kadir Ozturk, Mustafa Bostanci, Kadriye Kasapoglu's driver Sabri Caner Kirca, Baran Gonul, Mahir Gun, Esra Huri Bulduk, Sehide Zehra Keles Yuksel, Basak Tatli and police officer Nazan Baselli, IBB data specialist Ismet Korkmaz, IBB software coordinator Emrah Yuksel, IBB computer engineer Mehmet Caglar Kuru, IBB City Planner Nuri Cem Ceylan, IBB Social Media Consultant Ulas Yilmaz, advertiser Yusuf Utku Sahin, Imamoglu's bodyguard Caglar Turkmen, businessman Adem Soytekin, Beyoglu Mayor Inan Guney's Private Secretary Seyhan Ozcan, advertiser Esma Bayrak, Fatih Keles's nephew Murat Keles, IBB Expropriation Director Fatih Ozcelik, Inan Guney's brother-in-law Ismail Akkaya detained in the Beyoglu case, Businessman Harun Cengiz Begenmez and Businessman Mehmet Kaya, Iraz Bayrak, Orhan Gazi Erdogan, Engin Ulusoy, Mustafa Keles, Gokhan Koseoglu, Seza Buyukculha, Ahmet Sahin, Cevat Kaya, and Hakan Aplak.
