The agriculture sector set an export record of 26.1 billion dollars in the January-September period.

The Turkish agricultural sector achieved an export of 26.1 billion dollars in the period from January to September 2023, reaching an all-time high. Fresh fruits, vegetables, and dried fruits stood out in exports.

The agricultural sector achieved the highest January-September export figure of all time with 26.1 billion dollars. There is record demand for agricultural products from all over the world in Turkey's exports.



ALL-TIME RECORDS BROKEN



According to data compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the agricultural sector achieved the highest January-September export figure of all time with 26.1 billion dollars. While exports increased by 3.8% compared to the same period last year, the share of the agricultural sector in Turkey's total exports was 15.7%. Out of the 10 sectors operating in this field, 3 achieved the highest January-September exports of all time. Accordingly, in the first 9 months of the year, the fresh fruit and vegetable sector exported 2.4 billion dollars, processed fruit and vegetable products approximately 2 billion dollars, and dried fruits and products 1.2 billion dollars.



USA, GERMANY, AND RUSSIA AS MAIN EXPORT COUNTRIES



When looking at the countries where the record-breaking sectors exported the most, the Russian Federation, the USA, and Germany stood out.



Fresh fruits and vegetables were exported to the Russian Federation for 583 million dollars, processed fruit and vegetable products to the USA for 312.3 million dollars, and dried fruits and products to Germany for 160.5 million dollars. When looking at the provinces, the fresh fruit and vegetable sector exported 551.1 million dollars from Mersin, processed fruit and vegetable products 550.6 million dollars from Istanbul, and the dried fruit products sector 411.3 million dollars from Izmir.
