The AK Party referred all the names that attended the Burger King opening to disciplinary action.

Due to supporting Israel, which massacres innocent civilians in Gaza, the fast food chain Burger King, which has been boycotted across the country, faced significant backlash when AK Party mayors attended the opening of its branch in Rize. While the repercussions of the incident continue, AK Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik announced that all individuals who attended that opening have been referred for disciplinary action.

In his statement, Çelik used the following expressions: "A decision has been made to refer our mayors and organizational managers who attended the opening of a business that is under boycott in Rize for disciplinary action. The process is being monitored by our Organization Presidency."

Following the controversial opening images, the statement made by AK Party Rize Provincial Chairman Yılmaz Katmer became a topic of discussion. Responding to the criticisms directed at them through the poem "I cannot applaud oppression," attributed to Mehmet Akif Ersoy, which President Erdoğan has occasionally recited, Katmer said, "Those who lynch us, those who call us Israeli puppets and Jewish puppets, you will understand with what I am about to read.
