Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made statements on the Israeli attacks in Lebanon during a live broadcast by Anadolu Agency. The explosions of the communication devices and radios used by Hezbollah caused the death of 32 people. Fidan said about the attacks, "Israel learns about the purchases Hezbollah will make in advance and then infiltrates with front companies." He stated that this is not a new concept but it is happening on a large scale and it is an operation that affects thousands of people. HE SPOKE WITH THE PRIME MINISTER OF LEBANON ON THE PHONEFidan, who called Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati after the attacks, said, "I conveyed my get well wishes. I also said that Turkey is ready for any medical support." Fidan drew attention to the worrying escalation in the region and said, "Israel's operations are becoming increasingly provocative and we have reached a point where there is no possibility of Iran and Hezbollah not responding." "OUR PRESIDENT HAS PUT FORTH A WILL IN THIS REGARD"Regarding the cyber security situation in Turkey, Fidan said the following: "There is a great awareness about cyber security in our country. We have institutions in the Ministry of Transportation and capable units in the MIT. A proposal for an independent cyber security study was brought to our government. Our President has also put forth a will in this regard. We expect it to be implemented as soon as possible." "A POWER IS NEEDED TO STOP ISRAEL"The Foreign Minister said that the "fanatic government" in Israel pursues a strategy to eliminate all threats, carries out a gradual strategy in Gaza, and now implements it in Lebanon, saying, "They are doing this with the support of America. A power is needed to stop this." Fidan added, "This madness not only harms Palestinians but also Israelis. You will be under reactions for years. This will keep you in uncertainty for the next 10 or 100 years. Sensible Israelis see this." RELATIONS WITH SYRIAFidan also answered questions about normalization with Syria. He reminded of President Erdogan's statements that he is ready to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Fidan stated that the talks have been continuing indirectly for some time and added the following: "We have had intelligence and military discussions in various formats. Since 2017, there has been a frozen war as a result of the Astana format and the military agreement we made with the Russians, there is no conflict, there is a quiet environment. Since then, we have thought that steps should be taken for the permanent solution of certain issues." Fidan said that they want to see a political framework that the regime and the opposition can agree on in their war, and added, "Before normalizing with Turkey, the millions of Syrian refugees abroad should be considered." He added, "If there is a solution in the way Turkey wants, I believe that Syria will be able to solve other problems more easily." Fidan stated that more than 3 million Syrians have come to Turkey and said, "5 million of them are living there outside the control of the regime. If we had not established a certain system there, 5 million more Syrians would have come. They do not feel safe there."
