WHO IS YUSUF TEKIN?

Yusuf Tekin was born in 1970 in Tortum district of Erzurum. He completed his primary and secondary education in Rize and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences Department of Public Administration in 1994. Starting his professional career as a research assistant in the Department of Politics and Social Sciences at Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in the same year, Tekin completed his master's degree in politics and social sciences in 1997 and his doctorate in 2002.

Yusuf Tekin was appointed as a faculty member at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Public Administration. Tekin, who served as an assistant professor at the same faculty until 2007, became an associate professor in politics and social sciences in the same year. Tekin, who was appointed to the Presidency of the Police Academy Security Sciences Faculty in 2009, was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in 2011. Starting his duty as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Education in 2013, Yusuf Tekin served as the chairman of the board of trustees of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University between 2015 and 2018.

After the abolition of the undersecretary position with the transition to the Presidential Government System, Tekin returned to his academic position and became a professor at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Political Sciences Department of Political Science and Public Administration. Yusuf Tekin started his duty as the Rector of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University on September 15, 2018. While serving as the rector, Tekin was appointed as the Minister of National Education on June 4, 2023. Tekin, who is married and has three children, speaks English fluently.
