In the week of October 4, the banking sector's loan volume increased by 28 billion 100 million lira, reaching 14 trillion 954 billion 353 million lira. During the same period, total deposits decreased by 334 billion 358 million lira. The non-performing loans that banks are pursuing rose to 264 billion 616 million lira.

The credit volume of the banking sector increased by 28 billion 100 million lira in the week of October 4, reaching 14 trillion 954 billion 353 million lira. According to the weekly bulletin of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the sector's credit volume increased by 28 billion 100 million lira as of October 4. During this period, the credit volume rose from 14 trillion 926 billion 253 million lira to 14 trillion 954 billion 353 million lira. The total deposits in the banking sector, including interbank deposits, decreased by 334 billion 358 million lira last week, falling to 17 trillion 606 billion 115 million lira.

BIG INCREASE IN CONSUMER LOANS

The amount of consumer loans increased by 8 billion 719 million lira as of October 4, reaching 1 trillion 837 billion 906 million lira. Of this amount, 467 billion 836 million lira was for housing, 78 billion 149 million lira for vehicles, and 1 trillion 291 billion 921 million lira for personal loans. During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by 15 billion 364 million lira, reaching 1 trillion 933 billion 618 million lira. The receivables from individual credit cards of banks increased by 0.3%, reaching 1 trillion 629 billion 450 million lira. Of the individual credit card receivables, 558 billion 806 million lira was installment debt, while 1 trillion 70 billion 644 million lira was non-installment debt.

BANKS ARE ON THE TRAIL OF THOSE DEBTS

In the banking sector, non-performing loans increased by 3 billion 718 million lira as of October 4, reaching 264 billion 616 million lira compared to the previous week. A special provision was allocated for 198 billion 570 million lira of the non-performing loans. During the same period, the legal equity of the banking system increased by 450 million lira, reaching 3 trillion 190 billion 240.1 million lira. The KKM balance decreased by 1.4% and 21 billion 48 million lira last week, falling to 1 trillion 490 billion 697 million lira. Thus, the size of KKM constituted 8.47% of total deposits.
