The Bert Storm, which hit England, resulted in casualties and significant damage. Five people lost their lives due to the storm, while hundreds of homes in the Wales region were flooded, and serious transportation issues arose in London. Bert, the second major storm of this year, brought more than 80% of the normal rainfall for November in just two days. Currently, flood warnings are in effect for over 100 areas in England, Scotland, and Wales. The first casualty occurred with the disappearance of 75-year-old Brian Perry, who went out to walk his dog. Perry's body was found near the Afon Conwy river in Wales. The second death occurred in the Lancashire region, where an elderly driver in his 80s lost his life after driving into a puddle. Three more people died in other accidents caused by the storm. Another dangerous incident caused by the storm occurred in northern Wales. Five adults and five children trapped in a house near Llangollen faced danger due to a landslide. Fortunately, firefighters managed to rescue them all safely. While thousands of homes were left without electricity, authorities continue to warn the public to be cautious. Citizens living in flood-prone areas are advised to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary and to follow official warnings.
