In the second day of the trial of the 28 defendants, including Dilan and Engin Polat, who were arrested on charges of money laundering, Mustafa Özalp, also known as Mıstık, made striking statements in his defense. Özalp stated that he has an agency called "Mistik Medya" and that he has never been involved in any illegal activities in his 20-year career. He emphasized that Dilan and Engin Polat were just one of the clients of his agency.

20 TO 40 YEARS IMPRISONMENT

In the trial of the 28 defendants, including Dilan and Engin Polat, who are accused of money laundering, the defense statements continued on the second day. According to the prepared indictment, Dilan and Engin Polat, along with 4 other defendants, are being charged with "establishing and managing a criminal organization with the aim of committing a crime", "money laundering of assets derived from crime", and "violation of the Law on Organization of Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions", and they are facing imprisonment of 20 to 40 years. The court is expected to announce its interim decision tomorrow.

While the detained defendant Ahmet Gün was brought to the trial at Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance, Engin Polat, Sezgin Polat, and Alper Kürşat Polat participated via Audio and Visual Informatics System (SEGBIS). The defendants Dilan Polat, Sinem Sıla Doğu, Can Doğu, and their lawyers were present in the courtroom.

DİLAN POLAT WAVED TO HER HUSBAND ENGİN POLAT THROUGH SEGBİS

Dilan Polat and Sıla Doğu came to the trial in white suits, unlike the previous day. It was observed that Dilan Polat waved to her husband Engin Polat through SEGBİS. In the first trial held yesterday, the statements of 4 detained defendants and 13 released defendants were taken.

DİLAN POLAT'S BLACK BOX MADE A DEFENSE

Mustafa Özalp, also known as Mıstık, who is known as Dilan Polat's black box and was released in the money laundering case, stated in his defense that he has an agency called "Mistik Medya" and that he has never been involved in any illegal activities in his 20-year career. He also stated that he has no communication with those who were found guilty. Özalp explained that he has branches in Mamak and Çorum and that he is responsible for all social media affairs of these branches.

'I HAVE NEVER USED MAIL ORDER SYSTEM'

Özalp stated that they have never used the mail order system in their companies and said, "I developed the Dilan Polat application. Anyone can download it. It is the most downloaded application after E-Nabız in one and a half years. Anyone who collaborates with the brand can use it. I have two thousand registered influencers in my agency. The Polats are just one of our clients."

'MY CLIENTS ARE NOT IN A POSITION TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILIES'

Sevinç Horoz, the lawyer of Engin and Dilan Polat, stated in her defense, "It is not possible to talk about concrete evidence. I request the removal of all measures applied. It is not possible for an organization to emerge from this family structure. The report of the tax inspectors who examined their business activities supports this. There is no illegal betting, it states that the income is derived from sales. Without any concrete evidence, the children have been portrayed as money launderers, and we, as their lawyers, have been tarnished as lawyers of money launderers. My clients are not in a position to support their families due to the suffering they have experienced."

'PLEASE DO NOT WITHHOLD YOUR PRAYERS'

Dilan Polat did not make a statement to the press after the trial, but it was seen that her daughter Nilda Polat kissed her hand and walked holding her hand. Sıla Doğu told the press, "Please do not withhold your prayers."

PROSECUTOR REQUESTED THE CONTINUATION OF DETENTION FOR THE DETAINED DEFENDANTS

When asked for their opinion, the prosecutor of the trial requested the continuation of the detention of Engin Polat, Sezgin Polat, Kürşat Polat, and Ahmet Gün, who are currently in custody. The court, stating that the trial will continue tomorrow, adjourned the trial. The court is expected to announce its interim decision tomorrow.

40 YEARS IMPRISONMENT IS REQUESTED
