S.D.Ç. blocked the way of her mother-in-law, Neriman Çekin, who was walking on the street with her car. Then, S.D.Ç. got out of the car with her sister and beat Çekin with the slipper she took off her foot.

Neriman Çekin expressed her reaction to the release of her daughter-in-law, saying, "My son met this woman online 3 years ago, and we went and asked for her hand in marriage. Right after the wedding, we realized that the woman was not normal. She had beaten me before. First, insults and verbal abuse, then she physically assaulted me in the neighborhood. The whole neighborhood witnessed it. After that incident, I never met her again. My son came on leave 15 days ago. We were not involved; they met each other. She called me the night before the incident, but I didn't notice. This time, she called me around 10:00. She used very heavy insults and curses on the phone," she said.

Unable to determine who the person insulting her was because the phone number was not registered, the woman went to the police upon her husband's suggestion to go to the police station. Neriman Çekin said, "I told them that this number was bothering me, insulting me heavily. The police officers later showed me a photo and asked who it was. I said, 'It's my daughter-in-law.' The police said, 'Then you are being harassed by your daughter-in-law.' Then I left to go home. After that, this sister and brother followed me. In the middle of the road, it's also captured on cameras, they beat me. They both beat me and tried to run me over with the car. I currently have plates in my arm and leg, and I don't have the strength to stand up. I'm calling out to the judges and prosecutors.
