The suspect bride, detained upon the family's complaint, denied the allegations, while police launched a search for the missing gold.
Following a wedding in the Milas district of Muğla, which cost 10 million lira and lasted 3 days and 3 nights with a wrestling arena set up, the bride of Uzbek nationality disappeared with approximately 5 million lira worth of jewelry. The bride, detained upon the complaint, denied the allegations against her.
Mustafa Ateşoğlu, a resident of Milas's Çomakdağ Kızılağaç neighborhood, united in marriage with Uzbek national Mamura Burkhanova (Culponova), whom he met through intermediaries, in a magnificent ceremony. Approximately 10 million lira was spent for the wedding organization, where local traditions were fully applied and the famous head wrestlers of Kırkpınar entered the wrestling arena.
THE WEDDING ENDED, THE BRIDE AND MILLION-LIRA JEWELRY DISAPPEARED
Immediately after the dream-like wedding, which lasted three days and three nights and drew attention with its night oil wrestling, the Ateşoğlu family experienced a great shock. The family, noticing that the bride was not at home, discovered during their search that the gold and jewelry worth approximately 4 to 5 million lira presented at the wedding were also missing.

The aggrieved father, Mehmet Ateşoğlu, emphasizing the humiliation they experienced rather than the money lost, expressed his feelings with these words: "I spent 1,500,000 TL just for organizing the wrestling. I am not after the money lost. I am after my honor, my pride."
THE DETAINED BRIDE DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS
After the Ateşoğlu family filed a criminal complaint with the Milas Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, police teams launched an investigation. The Uzbek bride, caught and taken into custody in a short time, denied the serious allegations against her in her initial statement at the police station.
Claiming that she constantly faced threats and insults from her husband and therefore took refuge in her mother's house out of fear, the following details stood out in Burkhanova's statement:
- Claim of Jewelry: The bride claimed that she only took 20 quarter gold coins and 226 thousand TL with her, arguing that the remaining millions of gold remained with her father-in-law.
